This is a great product. Though I floss twice a day I still get painful spots in the gums around my teeth. When using this toothpaste I notice a dramatic improvement. If you go directly to the Therabreath website you can still get the non-fluoride type. I also like the Therabreath Plus mouthwash and the breath strips. I have also tried the breath spray and the pro-biotic treatment. I am not sure whether the pro-biotic treatment did anything for me, but I still like the products. I do wish the product was cheaper, but I guess you get what you pay for. Try using less and it will last longer. (You don't need to really load the brush up.)

It's unfortunate that one of the few reviews here is from a paid reviewer (and it is, you can even see if you click her profile link that her blog talks about being a paid reviewer), because that puts people off and makes them think the company is scammy and has to rely on stealth marketing. This product is far from a scam. For me, it is the only solution that has ever worked. Therabreath may help you if, like me, you have one or more of the following issues: (1) bad breath based in the throat - so even immediately after brushing and flossing, you feel like you have a lump in your throat and your breath still doesn't smell so great, (2) severe morning breath, (3) bad breath that feels related to having a dry mouth, or (4) tonsilloliths, or tonsil stones - little yellowish stones that gather in your tonsils. I've tried a number of Therabreath products, but the two that have really worked for me are the Dr. Katz TheraBreath Plus Toothpaste, Extra Strength, with Oxyd-8 and Zinc - RX, 4-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 5) and Dr. Katz TheraBreath Plus Oral Rinse Extra Strength (Pack of 5). (I'm writing this same review for both of them because I use them together and my experience applies to them both). It cleans your teeth and mouth and addresses bad breath without the use of counterproductive junk that you'll find in most other toothbrushes and toothpastes, like alcohol (dries your mouth out and makes breath worse), sodium lauryl sulfate (in most toothpastes to create foaming, but does nothing beneficial, dries your mouth, and causes canker sores), saccharin (carcinogen), and more. The Therabreath website is loaded with helpful information, and links to a few clinical studies, but I'll add my own personal experiment here. Before I found out about Therabreath, I asked my wife to warn me when I had bad breath, and basically every day - both morning and evening - I would be warned. Since I started using Therabreath a year ago, I have been warned exactly one time - right after I had a sandwich loaded with raw onions. I don't even have morning breath anymore. If you're frustrated by halitosis, dry mouth, bad taste in your throat, or tonsil stones, it would be a real mistake not to try these products.

This is pretty personal, but I am writing it in the spirit of sharing my experince for the benefit of others. In the past, especially when I ate cheese, my friends and wife made it clear my breath was a problem. Regular brushing, cleaning and conventional mouth washes didn't work that well. They only seemed to temporiarially mask the underlying problem. Finally, I read about Therabeath and Dr. Katz explained the chemistry behind my kind of bad breath. Molecules I naturally secreted in my saliva mixed with the molecules in cheese to produce a sulpher gas that smelled like rotton eggs. Not a good thing. The peroxide in this toothpaste oxidizes the sulpher molecules (burns the oxygen molecules off them)and thus chemically neutralizes the order. I think this is correct, but the bottom line is it works fantastic. I use only once a day, in the morning and brush with conventional tooth paste in the evening. I don't leave home without it.

I have ordered this item previously because it did not contain fluoride. I thought I was getting the same thing this time, but I read the small print on the ingredients when I received it and discovered it now contains fluoride, which is something I choose to avoid. The item doesn't say it doesn't contain fluoride, I just assumed it didn't because I thought it was the same "extra strength" toothpaste I had ordered in the past which did not contain fluoride. Otherwise, I'm sure it's a great product. Just be aware, if you have previously ordered this item because it did not contain fluoride, it does now.

Wow! This product almost left me speechless, but hey, this is a review, so I gotta talk. Lol. I wish I could speak right infront of you all prospective buyers so you can smell for yourself how great my breath is after just a week of using Therabreath Plus Toothpaste, Extra Strength. I've had bad breath problems for a couple of years now and I looked everywhere for bad breath cures. I even went to my dentist and had my teeth cleaned. It did solve the problem for a while, but in a couple of months it was back. When I started using the Therabreath system, it was like the follow-up medication that I needed to sustain my fresh breath. I now use it everyday. I brush with the toothgel, use the oral rinse, floss and use the oral rinse again. I've found that it also reduced my morning breath, and sour/metallic tastes after I eat. I've also discovered that it's all natural and doesn't contain all those ingredients that actually makes your breath worse. I recommend using this with the Therabreath plus oral rinse. Don't use it with products like Listerine, because the presence of alcohol in the product because it actually cancels out the effect. If you care about the health of your mouth and teeth as much as I do, you'll never go back to regular toothpastes and rinses one you've tried Therabreath.

I beleave that Fluoride in any form is harmfull to your body. So I drink purified water to avoid the fluoride in the tap water and brush with toothpaste containing NO fluoride. Dr. Katz toothpaste without fluoride fits my requirements for containing no harmfull ingredients. My wife and I, who are both aware of health risks with Fluoride, use this toothpaste. It works to clean our teeth without the harmfull effects of fluoride to not only our teeth but also our gums. Thank you Dr Latz !! Patrick and Bobbi Naples Florida

If you have bad breath too often and if you have it too strong, Therabreath Plus would be for you. I've been fighting bad breath for years, brushing as often as I could, and carrying around gum and mint. Nothing seemed to work. Everything just seemed to mask the bad breath for a while then it would be back. When I tried therabreath plus toothpaste, I feel that my bad breath problems were solved from its root. I can really feel the Oxyd-8 oxidize my mouth. No more morning breath, no more dry mouth. Its just freshness all the way. I don't even need to chew gum or mint a lot. The minty feeling lasts all day, because it just doesn't mask your bad breath, it removes it. Go therabreath and you'll never go back to regular toothpaste.:)
